Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I book an appointment?

To book an appointment, go to the “Book an Appointment” tab and click the link. It will then send you to a Google form where you’ll answer some questions that will help me contact you back, understand what design you’d like to get, and know which days of the week you’re available. If you do not already have a Google account, it may request that you create one in order to fill out the form.

  • What are your rates?

I charge by session instead of by hour. I currently offer both a full day and a half day option. A full day tattoo session is 8 hours and is $800. Half Day sessions are $550.

    The shop minimum is $150.

After we’ve discussed the design and chosen a time and date, in order to secure that time/date you’ll need to pay a non refundable $100 deposit that will go towards your tattoo. If the design is large or potentially complicated, a higher non refundable deposit may be required.

  • What type of payment methods do you accept?

For deposits I accept cash and Venmo, however for the remaining total of the tattoo I only accept cash.

  • What is your late policy?

If the appointment is able to continue, there will be a $25 fee applied for every $15 mins late for the appointment.

  • Why do I lose my deposit if I have to cancel or change my tattoo date?

An appointment that has been scheduled for a day inhibits me from scheduling other tattoos for the day.  I do not have walk in traffic to fill the lost time and new last minute appointments are not always available to fill the time slot.

  • Can I use numbing cream?

Absolutely! If you choose to use numbing cream though, please reach out for further product recommendations and also for directions on how to properly apply it. We also have numbing cream that you can request, it is $25 per tube that is used. The fee goes directly towards the product. For larger pieces multiple tubes may be needed.

The numbing typically only works the best for the first 4 hours. Once the numbing starts to wear off, the tattoo session tends to be more painful than not using the numbing cream because all of the pain rushes in at once. If you are concerned about this, no worries! We can work on sectioning out the design to only work in 4 hour increments. Each session will need to be 4-8 weeks apart.

  • How old do you need to be to get a tattoo?

You will need to be 18 years or older OR follow the list of steps/rules that must be taken in order to get tattooed as a minor.

The first step is to get your parents permission. In the state of Utah, all tattoo artists are required to have parents show proof of being the parent/guardian of the minor. This is usually with a valid drivers license and also a birth certificate. The minor must also have either a state issued ID or a drivers license. The parent/guardian must also be present for the entirety of the tattoo appointment. If for whatever reason they must leave, that tattoo session will be ended.

  • How do I care for my tattoo while it’s healing?

We recommend that you wash your tattoo 2-3 times a day with non-scented antibacerial soap, gently rubbing any dust or dirt that has tracked onto the tattoo. Keep your tattoo moist with the Tattoo Lovers salve, lubriderm, or or a similar product (petroleum free) until your tattoo is fully healed. Avoid wearing clothes that will rub off the salve/lotion and avoid the sun. If you must wear clothes (such as at work) then wear light, breathable materials. Avoid picking, scratching, or rubbing the tattoo area, especially if it is peeling. This could lighten and damage the tattoo.

  • How do I care for my tattoo after it has healed?

After your tattoo has healed, it is best to use  lotion to keep the area healthy and avoid peeling because of dry skin. Be sure to wear sunscreen whenever you spend more than 30 minutes outside!

  • What should I wear to my tattoo session?

We recommend that you wear something that is light, loose, clean, and comfortable. You should bring a removable layer such as a jacket or blanket if you get cold. If you are getting a tattoo under your normal clothes line, such as on your chest or legs, wear some clothing that easily leaves that part of your body revealed so that you don't have to undress. Anxiously Tom is a private tattoo studio, but we do provide pasties. Occasionally, ink splatter may get onto your clothing. For this reason, wear clothes that you are okay with minor stains.

  • Can I trade work for my tattoo?

Yes! Please contact AnxiouslyTom prior to your appointment to negotiate so you don't get stuck paying when you weren't expecting it!

  • If my tattoo requires multiple sessions, how do I pay?

You will not need to pay for all of your sessions upfront, instead you will be paying for each session the day of the appointment. Each session will require a new and separate deposit that will go towards that tattoo.

  • What forms of payment are acceptable?

AnxiouslyTom only accepts cash payments for the tattoos, although deposits can be paid through Venmo. You can only use Venmo for the deposit and not for the full amount of the tattoo. If you forget, 7-Eleven also has an ATM that you will be able to pull money from.

  • Do you do custom designs?

Yes! We absolutely love custom designs. Please reach out and we can further discuss your ideas.
